sunset

Sitting on the lanai this afternoon prompted me to quickly grab the Sony A900 w the 500mm F8 lens. Shot off a few images but didn't see a green flash.

Nice lens. Not the same build as my Canon 400mm IS lens but not bad for about $800 bucks. Too bad this lens isn't like an f4 or so. F8 can be tough.

Howzit Marco! What do you think of the focusing speed of the lens? Is it fairly sharp for a mirror lens? I wonder if it will track birds in flight? Looks like you are busy with the prez in town and sitting on the beach waiting doesn't sound all too bad! Mahalo from Kauai ....

The lens is the Sony 500mm f8 lens. Its new and it does autofocus. For the cost of the lens being around $800 it is acceptable but not super sharp and surely not fast. Its a good lens and one of only one's that autofocuses.

Was this the same A900 you did that review on earlier at the Sony open?

Cool man. Nice sunset. Gotta love the kona winds for that. Hehe.
